John Flynn Joins Bixby International as Production Manager
Newburyport, Massachusetts (PRWEB) April 15, 2015 -- Bixby International, a custom thermoplastic sheet extruder and laminator offering one of the broadest polymer and substrate selections in the industry, has recently added John Flynn to its Production department.
Flynn brings a wealth of experience to his new role as Production Manager thanks to his 25 years in the manufacturing industry, working in multiple key areas including, Customer Service, Quality, and Lean Six Sigma. Throughout his career, he has been employed at companies in industries, ranging from Medical and Semiconductor to Telecommunications and Defense. While at one of them, Flynn was responsible for implementing a Pull System across the entire organization.
Flynn has a strong track record in disciplines crucial to ensuring a successful manufacturing environment in the companies of which he has been a part. Some examples of these include his achievements in continuous improvement, and in his ability to teach and motivate. Flynn also has proven himself adept at managing across multiple levels of an organization for the expressed purpose of tracking and improving quality, on-time delivery, and safety. In addition, he has mastered the use Lean tools such as morning market review, standardization of work, and building to TAKT.
In one of his previous positions, Flynn was instrumental in improving quality throughout the organization, raising it from less than 70% to 98%. Through Continuous Improvement efforts, he helped another company improve delivery from days to hours. Flynn also takes great pride in the fact that he has coached and facilitated over 30 Kaizen events.
Flynn has earned a BS in Operations Technology, and is currently working on his MBA, which he is scheduled to complete in Spring 2018. He also holds a host of important certifications, among them a Certificate of Lean from GBMP, as well as one in Green Belt and another in Internal Audit.
Flynn is excited to be bringing all his experience in manufacturing to bear on his new position at Bixby.
