Foodies in the Sunshine State look forward to this annual festival to taste some of the best food that the state has to offer. Throughout the event are several specialty cocktail and hors d’oeuvre receptions, and diners can even enjoy a five-course premium wine-pairing dinner. There are even cooking classes, so this is one festival that John Giduck recommends bringing the whole family to. On the last night of the festival, the activities hit a crescendo with a cooking competition and tasting.
3. White Truffle Festival of Alba, Alba, Italy
Italians really love truffles, and for more than a month, the small town of Alba plays host to one of the largest truffle festivals in the world. Visitors from across the globe will enjoy wine pairings, cooking demonstrations, a beauty pageant and even live jazz music performances. John Giduck shares that spectators can even watch the invitation-only Truffle Auction where some of the best truffles sell for over $130,000.
4. Galway International Oyster & Seafood Festival, Ireland
On the last week of September, the Oyster Opening Championship starts in Galway, Ireland; an event that has been going on every year since 1954. Throughout the four-day festival, visitors can taste fresh oysters, enjoy a parade and listen to some of the area’s finest musicians.
