John Kerr releases the action-packed conclusion to his 'The Bear' series
The adventures of James McGuire and James Hagen continue in this new novel
RIVERSIDE, Calif., June 28, 2022 /PRNewswire-PRWeb/ -- "Lonesome Dove" meets the "The Godfather" is the best description of John Kerr's "The Bear" series — a multi-generation tale set against the backdrop of the colorful and unique history of America's 31st state.
This 2022, the author releases its fourth volume titled "The Bear: California Dreamin'" (published by iUniverse). In this novel, long-time partners James McGuire and James Hagen stand back-to-back and take on the government, the mob, and a duplicitous woman out for revenge. Bullets fly and the streets run red with blood as Los Angeles city fathers redline Mexican neighborhoods in a plot to bring a professional ball club to the City of Angels. Can James McGuire and James Hagen beat the odds that await them?
"First and foremost, (I) would like any reader to be entertained and enjoy being taken on a grand adventure that stretches over 100 years," the author states. "Anyone who likes the books of Larry McMurtry, Dennis Lehane, and Cormac McCarthy should enjoy the fast-paced action that begins with Senator McCarthy's HUAC hearings and ends in a blood bath with the mob on the mean streets of Los Angeles."
"The Bear: California Dreamin" is an action-packed conclusion to Kerr's epic series which stretches from the Bear Flag Revolt up to the Manson murders. To purchase a copy of the book, visit https://www.iuniverse.com/en/bookstore/bookdetails/807532-the-bear-california-dreamin.
