Johns Hopkins All Children’s Celebrates Dedication of Simulation Center
ST. PETERSBURG, Fla. (PRWEB) May 09, 2019 -- Johns Hopkins All Children’s Hospital officially dedicated the Walmart and Sam’s Club Simulation Center on Thursday. Dozens of Walmart associates and community leaders were in attendance to join the celebration.
Walmart and Sam’s Club associates have raised $1.2 million for the center, which is led by Dr. Jen Arnold. The space is a testing, research and training facility where learners get hands-on experiences in spaces that mimic anything from a clinical exam room to a home environment. Simulation helps learners practice high-risk clinical situations and better prepares them to communicate and work together as a team. The center officially opened last fall in the Johns Hopkins All Children’s Research and Education building.
“We are so appreciative of the support Walmart and Sam’s Club have had for the children and families at Johns Hopkins All Children’s,” said Jenine Rabin, executive vice president of the Johns Hopkins All Children’s Foundation. “For more than 30 years, Walmart and Sam’s Club have helped make important investments throughout the hospital, including new equipment and spaces that truly make a difference in the care we’re able to provide to the children with medically complex needs in our community.”
Walmart and Sam’s Club associates have helped raise $1 billion for 170 Children’s Miracle Network hospitals, such as Johns Hopkins All Children’s, across the country since 1987. Locally, associates, their generous customers and members have raised approximately $18 million for Johns Hopkins All Children’s Hospital.
“We are so grateful for our customers and associates who continue to show an inspirational passion each year to help raise funds so that children right here in the Tampa-St. Petersburg community live better,” said Elise Vasquez-Warner, vice president and regional general manager for Walmart in Central Florida. “Together, we have made a real difference in the lives of our area’s most vulnerable children.”
