International semiconductor test company to release triboelectric-charge limiting test contactors at Taiwan show

Johnstech International, a global leader in the semiconductor test industry, will unveil the ES-P Series, a new line of low electrostatic discharge test contactors at Semicon Taiwan 2020 in Taipei, Taiwan. The ES-P is Johnstech’s new ROL technology housing and alignment plate material. Currently offered with the Pad ROL® 200, Pad ROL® 100A, and Leaded ROL® 200, contactors with ES-P material are designed for devices that exhibit higher sensitivity to electrostatic discharge (ESD) events.

Johnstech Vice President of Global Engineering, Sales and Service Bob Chartrand explains that while ESD-safe materials are not new to the industry, what is new, is this proprietary material limits the triboelectric charging of the contactor to low levels while having a minimal effect on RF performance.
