Jordan Sanders had been writing poems for years. Her friends suggested that she get them published. But after her younger brother published his first book last year, Sanders was finally motivated to have her own poems published as well and the result of which is her poetry book, “Introspection: From the Soul of an Aquarius” (published by AuthorHouse).
The poetry book shares Sanders collection of thoughts written many years ago. It takes a look inside the mind of an individual riding the highs and lows of emotions from contentment to strife. These written thoughts were therapeutic for Sanders. Her subject matter ranges from love to disappointment, stress and angst to happiness and contentment.
A stanza from the poem “Why I Write” reads:
I write these poems to remind myself
That I am a work in progress
Because even in the midst
Of my silly little human-made mess
I am truly blessed…
“I want readers to take away that it is ok to be sad or angry sometimes,” Sanders says. “We go through things in life. Just don't stay in a constant state of sadness or anger. Find the good parts of life and be thankful and grateful.”
