JourneyGuide Adds eMoney Advisor and Broadridge Veterans to Senior Leadership
JourneyGuide Announces Revolutionary Retirement Planning Software That Offers Blend of Asset Accumulation and Guaranteed Income for Financial Advisors Competing for Mass Affluent Clients
FORT WAYNE, Ind., Oct. 16, 2018 /PRNewswire-PRWeb/ -- JourneyGuide, an innovative retirement income planning software for advisors with mass affluent clients, has appointed two industry veterans to its senior leadership team: Scott Fergusson, who is now CEO, and Charles Clark, executive vice president of sales and marketing.
Fergusson is a 25-year veteran of the financial services space, bringing experience and guidance to the JourneyGuide team as it grows. A former advisor and fintech entrepreneur, he immediately saw the value that JourneyGuide brings to advisors focused on leveraging retirement planning to build relationships with mass affluent clients, and as a means towards monetizing their relationships faster.
"In today's competitive market, financial advisors need help providing real expertise that is in collaboration with their clients. Our goal from the start was to make the software so easy to use that it requires no training. And that means more advisors will actually use the tool to help clients retire and plan with confidence, as well as build trust and loyalty that lasts," he said.
Fergusson is a self-described serial entrepreneur, notably in the data aggregation space. He co-founded Investigo, which was acquired in 2008 by Broadridge Financial Solutions of New York. At Investigo, he and his team pioneered the field of financial data aggregation, with four U.S. patents covering how information and process are used to help advisors and their firms work smarter and more efficiently.
Clark is charged with driving JourneyGuide into the independent advisor market and enterprise channels. He is responsible for marketing and promoting JourneyGuide to independent financial advisors who focus on helping affluent and mass affluent clients achieve success with their retirement goals. He believes in JourneyGuide's mission of helping advisors create smarter retirement plans for their mass affluent clients.
"We are living in an age that has produced the greatest financial technology the industry has ever seen, and yet the gap between those on track to have a successful retirement has grown and is bigger than ever in our history. JourneyGuide is the right technology to solve the retirement crisis for the mass affluent," he said.
With more than 20 years of experience building high growth sales and business development teams for market-leading web-based technology companies, Clark has worked with Ernst & Young, VerticalNet, and Orbitz. Most recently, he was in charge of sales and business development at eMoney Advisor. He also has advised the CEOs of market-leading financial technology companies on sales strategy and model development. His teams have directly and indirectly sold financial technology to more than 50,000 independent financial advisor firms.
Tim Ash, CEO of Ash Brokerage, remains JourneyGuide's lead investor and chairman of the Board. "I am pleased to have two highly accomplished professionals join our team. With their experiences with fintech companies, and their commitment to helping financial advisors become successful with their mass affluent clients, I am confident we can achieve our mission of helping to solve the retirement crisis in America," he said. Ash added that he believes every advisor should be able to proudly say that 100 percent of their clients has a plan to retire successfully – and with confidence.
JourneyGuide creates smarter retirement plans by identifying a client's current retirement income path, optimizing Social Security, showing the impact of annuities for guaranteed income, and illustrating what happens to income if retirees get sick in retirement.
Advisors can see these smarter plans in action at the National Association of Personal Financial Advisors (NAPFA) conference Oct.15-18 in Philadelphia. The JourneyGuide team will be in booth number 217 in the vendor area. Advisors are welcome to bring a case – they'll be able to use the software to generate a smarter retirement plan in just 15 minutes.
