JRNL.com, a private journaling application, has joined BoomStartup's Accelerator program. BoomStartup is ranked 12th best Accelerator in the United States, as reported by TechCrunch. JRNL is working toward completing their Seed Round Funding with this program.

“BoomStartup is a very competitive program to get into, with less than a two percent acceptance rate,” Sumner Douglas, Partner and Managing Director of BoomStartup, said.

JRNL, a private journaling application designed for both Web and Mobile use, has joined BoomStartup’s Accelerator program for their Spring 2016 Cohort session. JRNL is currently one of nine companies chosen to participate in the 12-week intensive program, where companies will work with a variety of mentors to hone their solution and refine their pitch for investors. So far, 74 percent of BoomStartup’s companies have received funding at the end of the program.

“We are thrilled to have been selected as part of this accelerator group,” Nick Jones, Founder and President of JRNL, said. “The mentors with this program are some of the best in the business, and we’re pleased to have the opportunity to work with them. We believe this experience will make JRNL stronger and put us in the position to make our product better for our users.”

BoomStartup’s Accelerator programs work with the selected startups to provide a seed investment, access to investors, office space, and a range of services, such as hosting, marketing, legal, and financial services. Companies first attend a kick-off and orientation program, followed by 12-weeks of curriculum and coaching based on the lean startup philosophy, designed to help the startups nail their business model and build their minimum viable product. BoomStartup also holds events for topics that are global and beneficial to all companies and team members.

“BoomStartup is a very competitive program to get into, with less than a two percent acceptance rate,” Sumner Douglas, Partner and Managing Director of BoomStartup, said. “We look for companies that have a strong vision for their product; as well as those who offer a product we feel has the potential to be widely adopted. We believe JRNL is a great fit and they've been a strong company in this year's cohort.”

The Accelerator program ends with a Demo Day. This is a special event where companies are invited to present their businesses before private investors, angel groups, venture capitalists, banks, and other members of the ecosystem.

“We are very much looking forward to participating in Demo Day,” Jones added. “We are working on perfecting our product and creating something that will potentially have a very large user base. We are excited for all the ways this Accelerator program will help us.”
