Hollywood, CA (PRWEB) September 25, 2014 -- To celebrate the release of her highly anticipated EP, “The Movement,” Urban Pop recording artist Julie Marie hosted her release party to a chic and vibrant international crowd on Friday, September 19, 2014, at the Grafton Hotel on Sunset (8462 Sunset Blvd, West Hollywood, CA 90069). DJ Tee Time was on the 1’s & 2’s.
Julie Marie, age 17, describes her EP as “old school meets new school.” She co-writes all of her songs with her producer RNS Beats. Her new singles on the EP include: “Haiti Girl,” “Parachute” and “Generation.” She is working with acclaimed hip-hop choreographer Shane Sparks. Julie Marie is a main character in the upcoming TV show, “The Dancers of North Hollywood,” directed by Antonio James.
She has opened for recording artist Eric Bellinger, as well as the Fanatics on City Walk. She will be touring with Mindless Behavior, starting September 28, 2014 in Redondo Beach. She is also scheduled to open for Aaron Carter in New York City on November 7, 2014.

At age four, Julie Marie signed with a modeling agency and modeled for a major department store. After attending an Alicia Keys concert, she knew that her passion was performing. When she turned sixteen, she left the east coast and moved to California to advance her music career.
Julie Marie is a Haitian American. For her sweet sixteen, Julie created the “U R Not Alone” Foundation. As a Haitian American, she spent two months in Haiti, visiting local hospitals, raising money, and donating food and clothes to victims of the earthquake. “I was grateful enough to have everything I wanted in life. I wanted to help the victims.”
With a passion for urban fashion, Julie Marie takes masculine pieces and makes them feminine. She looks up to fashion icons Aaliyah, Rocky and Rihanna. As a role model for girls, Julie observes, “I simply want girls to be fearless.”
