IRVINE, Calif., Oct. 11, 2018 /PRNewswire-PRWeb/ -- The world's premier indoor electric karting operator, K1 Speed, is thrilled to announce today its expansion into the European market with the opening of K1 Speed Lyon in France on Friday, October 12.
The 60,0000-sq. ft. (5,500-m2) center is located in Genas - 15 minutes from downtown Lyon and less than 10 minutes away from Eurexpo and the Lyon Olympic Stadium. This means France becomes the sixth country to take advantage of K1 Speed's tremendously successful International Franchise program and seventh country to host at least one K1 Speed center.
Adults and teenagers will enjoy racing all-electric EFD Storm Karts that are capable of reaching up to 45mph (72kmph), while Junior racers aged seven or older will be able to get behind the wheel of the latest electric Junior karts that can approach 25mph (40kmph). Racers who are either disabled or younger than seven can ride along with an adult in the two-seater electric kart – making this K1 Speed a bi-place karting center. All racing will take place on a professionally designed asphalt track that will provide plenty of grip and overtaking opportunities.
When not racing on the track, visitors will continue to be entertained by playing on one of the racing simulators or pool tables. A snack bar will allow racers to refuel after racing with a selection of refreshing beverages and quick bites.
K1 Speed has become one of the most popular entertainment destinations for birthday parties, corporate functions, and company events, and this location is sure to continue that success. The center will feature a total of three private meeting rooms: two will have capacity for 20 people, while another will have capacity for 50 people.
