Karriem Allah discusses the Honorable Louis Farrakhan's public admonishment of the Artistic Community and Hollywood for their major role in degenerating American Society

NEWARK, Del., Dec. 26, 2019 /PRNewswire-PRWeb/ -- Karriem Allah continues to shed light on the enormous effects of the saturation of the American public with the extreme violence and immoral behaviors portrayed in Hollywood movies and television shows—questioning how such scenes affect, and even influence, human behaviors among children, in particular. He cites the following from the American Academy of Family Physicians' position paper, "Violence in the Media and Entertainment," regarding the ubiquity of violence portrayed in movies and television:

"An average American youth will witness 200,000 violent acts on television before age 18. Violence is often considerable, even in programs not advertised as violent.… Studies have found that 91 percent of movies on television contained violence, even extreme violence. Several researchers have described an increase of violent content in movies, despite a national rating system. They note that the amount of gun violence in top grossing PG-13 films has more than tripled since the introduction of the rating in 1985."

Referencing the Honorable Louis Farrakhan's 1993 book, "A Torchlight for America," Karriem Allah discusses the "artistic community's" arguably apparent dereliction in its responsibility to be a "good shepherd" over the moral development and advancement of the American people through the field of arts. He reinforces the Honorable Louis Farrakhan's rebuke of those using their God-given talents to propagate degenerate behaviors through the movies and television programs they participate in producing, even in light of the increasing incidences of mass shootings among adolescents and teenagers.

Karriem Allah also raises the discussion of the heavily-publicized incidences of mental illness among some major Hollywood actors. He references the 2019 article, "What Happens When Celebrities Speak Out" published by the National Alliance on Mental Illness (NAMI), where the late Patty Duke described how actors "would run the risk of getting black listed and denied parts if it were known that they had a mental health condition."

Karriem Allah explains the neurology of the detrimental effects on Hollywood actors who immerse themselves in movie and television scripts inundated with scenes that portray violent, criminal and immoral behaviors.
