Kathleen Kelley announces release of ‘Incan Warrior’
SUGAR LAND, Texas (PRWEB) September 26, 2017 -- Kathleen Kelley always liked ancient cultures and learning about them. She wrote “Incan Warrior” (published by Xlibris) as a project while in school and then edited it many times to integrate more of the culture and the details of the time period.
The book tells the story about Huchuysisa and Ninasisa, two young girls who want to make a change within their society and help their culture for the better. They show what women can do even though tradition does not want them to do it.
“I think that people in their teens will like this story because it is something different. People don't usually write about the Incas. People who like history will love it as well because I incorporated as much about their culture I could, especially their names,” Kelley says. “Do you know how hard it is to find Incan names? They had no written language so names were the hardest part, male names especially.”
“I learned a lot about the Incas on my own time. I think it's important for people to realize while you're in middle school and high school you have a lot of time. That is when you could go learn about ancient Greece, Rome, China, or any other country's history. If you don't find one culture interesting, choose a different one,” Kelley adds.
