Tucked away in Notting Hill’s enchanting Grade II listed arts space, The Tabernacle, a purr-fect evening of entertainment happened in May 2016.
Many of the four million readers that propelled a homeless busker’s autobiography A Streetcat named Bob into bestseller lists across the globe and can’t wait for the film to come out later this year, this was a unique opportunity to spend an evening with author James Bowen and his remarkable feline companion Bob. All in aid of a very good cause.
The heartwarming tale which recounts Bowen’s recovery from addiction with the help of stray cat Bob has been translated into 30 languages, spent over 76 weeks at the top of the Sunday Times bestseller list and is currently being made into a feature film starring Luke Treadaway.
This inseparable duo whose fascinating story of how an animal can help a human through adversity resonates with the work being undertaken by Ebony Horse Club, a charity in Brixton that uses horses to improve the lives of young people growing up in one of the most disadvantaged wards in the UK.

As a very special present one of the companies supporting the fundraiser, 4Cats Heimtierbedarf GmbH a German based cat toy manufacturer, created a unique guitar shaped toy for Bob which was presented during this event. The lovingly handmade guitar was created in the image of James Bowen's own guitar.
