“I Am Who I Am”: a poignant memoir about the beauty of embracing hope and faith amidst the unending tribulations one comes across in life. “I Am Who I Am” is the creation of published author Kenneth Walden, a hardworking man and brilliant writer. He participated in the Boston Schools Race Riots, was a member of the METCO Busing Program Ex Board in the 1960s, and was a member of the Urban League. He was cofounder of the National Union of Hospital and Healthcare employees Union district 1199 Massachusetts in 1966/ 1980. He was the first black president of this organization and the past president of Cambridge Economic Opportunity Commission. Disabled, he is now staying at home.

Walden shares, “This biography is dedicated to my grandmother, without whose teaching I would not be here. Also, my family, especially my grandchildren, who I feel should have firsthand knowledge of their grandfather’s life. A special thanks to both my brother Robert Walden, who pushed me for years to write this book, and to Karmai Alexander, who guided me and put up with my being so impatient, finding time while she was busy creating artwork that needed concentration. Without these two people, this book would not have been written.”

Published by Christian Faith Publishing, Kenneth Walden’s new book is a wonderful source of encouragement and faith as one faces the adversities brought by life. It is a beautiful reminder that all the pain heals and pays off in the end.
