Kerr Economic Development Corp.'s Deputy Director Theresa Metcalf Graduates from OU Economic Development Institute

NORMAN, Okla., Nov. 17, 2021 /PRNewswire-PRWeb/ -- The Kerr Economic Development Corporation (KerrEDC) announced today that its Deputy Director Theresa Metcalf has graduated from the University of Oklahoma Economic Development Institute (OU EDI). OU EDI is an intensive 117-hour certificate program which provides advanced education for economic development professionals.

"I'm thrilled to take what I've learned from OU EDI and apply it to my role at KerrEDC, where my focus is to implement economic development strategies that benefit the community and attract business," said Metcalf, who has lived in Kerrville approximately 20 years and has worked for the Kerr Economic Development Corporation since 2016. "Through cooperative measures we can celebrate our community's unique qualities while working collaboratively to solve our challenges."

In her role at KerrEDC, Metcalf is responsible for the development and management of programs for KerrEDGE Entrepreneur Center, business retention and expansion, and workforce training. She assists in the implementation of an economic development strategy to sustain and increase the competitiveness and pro-business atmosphere of the greater Kerrville area.

Students typically take 1-2 years to complete the program through a series of intensive in-person or online courses.
