The Microsoft MVP is awarded annually to recognize the worldwide experts across a range of Microsoft technologies. Per Microsoft’s MVP website, MVPs “…are technology experts who passionately share their knowledge with the community. They are always on the "bleeding edge" and have an unstoppable urge to get their hands on new, exciting technologies. They have very deep knowledge of Microsoft products and services, while also being able to bring together diverse platforms, products and solutions, to solve real world problems. MVPs make up a global community of over 4,000 technical experts and community leaders across 90 countries/regions and are driven by their passion, community spirit, and quest for knowledge. Above all and in addition to their amazing technical abilities, MVPs are always willing to help others - that's what sets them apart. …[the] contributions MVPs make to the community, ranging from speaking engagements, to social media posts, to writing books, to helping others in online communities, have incredible impact.”
Of the global MVP community, there are 240 Microsoft MVPs focused on Business Applications according to the Microsoft website, which includes all the Dynamics 365 and Power Platform products. Though the exact number is not known, there are only an estimated 35 or so MVPs focused on Microsoft Dynamics 365 Business Central worldwide, creating an exclusive group.
Kerry shared how pleased she is to receive the award again in an interview posted to the New View Strategies YouTube channel. “A Microsoft MVP is somebody who evangelizes the software in a volunteer way. They participate in conferences, they might teach classes, give webinars, answer questions on forums, etc. I always explain it to other people that I just have a really nerdy hobby - I absolutely love financial reporting and I want to share as much information with people about that as possible."
She further shared why it is such an honor to be recognized as a Microsoft MVP. “There are many different types of people who are MVPs, and being an MVP enables me to talk to a lot of very smart people about how to user Business Central to drive business productivity and efficiency. When I started out, a lot of people helped me, and I absolutely love giving back.”
