Kessick awarded Patent on Wine Storage System
GREENVILLE, S.C., Sept. 24, 2026 /PRNewswire-PRWeb/ -- Kessick Wine Storage Systems has been awarded U.S. Patent No. 12,733,734 for its "Modular Wine Rack System with Concave Post Mounting," the engineering behind the company's Somm Series wine storage and display system. The patent was issued to inventor Robert Bass and Kessick, LLC.
Kessick sells exclusively through the professional trades — architects, designers, builders and wine cellar professionals who call on the company to solve storage problems that off-the-shelf racking can't. The Somm Series, and the patent behind it, reflect that role: rather than adapt an existing rack design, Kessick engineered a new structural system built around a concave aluminum pole, giving the trade a foundation flexible enough to support bottle displays, shelving, cabinetry, countertops and accessories without compromising the architecture of the room.

That structural foundation supports a broad range of configurations — label-forward, neck-out and integrated display options, along with wood shelving, cabinetry, LED lighting and stemware storage — and can be configured for floor-to-ceiling, floor-to-wall or wall-to-wall applications, incorporating metal, wood and acrylic components as needed. Many shelving components arrive fully assembled, while the vertical poles are pre-cut and pre-drilled specifically for each design, simplifying installation on both residential and commercial projects.
Kessick provides both engineered catalog designs and custom Somm solutions, and the system can be combined with the company's other wine storage product lines to create fully customized wine rooms and displays.
