Kevin Paul DeCoste's New Book "Weapon of Choice" Shows the Post Prison Decisions That Changed His Life After Detrimental False Criminal Charges
Recent release "Weapon of Choice" from Page Publishing author Kevin Paul DeCoste draws on the author's experiences, his faith, and the lessons learned throughout the various stages of his life.
WAKEFIELD, Mass., March 25, 2019 /PRNewswire-PRWeb/ -- Kevin Paul DeCoste, a retired US Army Reserves veteran, a campus police corporal, and a counselor at a treatment program for adolescent males convicted of sex offenses, has completed his new book "Weapon of Choice": a memoir that captures the experiences of Mr. DeCoste from when his life changed forever with false accusations, to when he came out a stronger, more determined man on the other side.
"From false accusation to trial to false imprisonment then probation, this is a story of defeat and survival that nothing could prepare a person for," Kevin Paul DeCoste explained of his book.
Published by New York City-based Page Publishing, Kevin Paul DeCoste's story begins in a dark place, a time during which the author is faced with literal life-and-death situations from morning to night in a jail cell where he attests he did not belong.
"One night, my new cellmate was trying to whip up support among his inmate friends to 'do something' about his new cellmate—me," the author explained. "This was definitely not going well. I could almost feel an assault coming. But I decided: if I was going to die in prison, then I would take myself out. I could fight—the Army had trained me well—but how many would come at me? Would there be weapons? After that, I placed a thirty-day supply of Atenolol—a drug that reduces your blood pressure—in my pocket. If things went badly, I would take all of them at once, stopping my heart with a minimum of pain. I spoke silently with God and told Him, 'If I have to do this, please don't send me to hell.' This event was survived, and while there was a long road ahead, I returned the favor to the Lord and devoted my life to Him."
Readers who wish to know more about this inspiring life can purchase "Weapon of Choice" at bookstores everywhere, or online at the Apple iTunes store, Amazon, Google Play or Barnes and Noble.
