Kids That Rip Skateboard School Announces 12 Year Old, X Games L.A. Invitees
Mesa, AZ (PRWEB) July 24, 2013 -- Kids That Rip Skateboard School (KTR), an indoor skatepark and action sports training facility in Mesa, AZ, is proud to announce the return of Jagger Eaton and Alana Smith, X Games’ youngest athlete and youngest medalist, to X Games Los Angeles. Both skateboarders have been skating alongside each other in the Kids That Rip program since a young age, and now will be showcasing their skills together on live television.
The competition is a part of the fourth and final stop of the 2013 X Games Global action sports tour, and is internationally broadcasted on ESPN networks.
For 12 year-old Jagger Eaton, Los Angeles will be his 4th X Games "Big Air Skateboard" appearance. Eaton placed 4th in June at the Munich Games and 6th in May at Barcelona. Last year, Eaton received the Guinness World Record at L.A. for “X Games Youngest Athlete” at age 11, and is still the youngest competitor skating the 80ft tall Big Air ramp. Eaton competes Thursday, August 1 from 6-7:15 p.m. at the Irwindale Event Center.
A now seasoned X Games competitor, Eaton says, “My goal for L.A. is to have a great time with my friends and skate my hardest."
For Alana Smith, who had her first X Games appearance in May at the Women’s Park in Barcelona, Los Angeles will be her first X Games "Street" competition. In Barcelona, Smith won Silver in the Park event, and at age 12, became “X Games Youngest Medalist”. A few months prior, Smith had become the first female to land a McTwist in competition. The Women’s Street event takes place Thursday, August 1 from 2-3:30 p.m. PT at the L.A. LIVE Event Deck.
X Games L.A. could be Alana Smith’s second X Games medal. In regards to skating in the event, she says, "It's an amazing experience, I've dreamed of skating X Games Street since the day I started skating. My goals are just to skate the best I can and have fun."
