Kids Wish Network distributes $1.2 million of toys to Florida children
HOLIDAY, Fla. (PRWEB) January 23, 2015 -- Kids Wish Network recently distributed $1.2 million in new gifts to help Florida children facing the adversities of illness, poverty, homelessness and abuse through its Holiday of Hope Gift Bank program.
“Kids Wish Network’s dedication to our youth in the community truly makes a difference.” said Bradley Baumgardner, president of the Boys & Girls Club of Tampa Bay, one of 52 organizations across the state that benefited from Kids Wish Network’s generosity.
Each organization received pallets brimming with brand new toys, games and gifts from some of the nation’s leading manufacturers and distributors. Every pallet was filled with puzzles, board games, laptop desks, dolls, clothes, educational toys, hygiene and beauty products, technology accessories, cars, craft kits, stuffed animals, and much more.
Camp Boggy Creek, a year round retreat located in Central Florida for children with serious illnesses and their families, was another appreciative recipient of a gift bank.
“Kids Wish Network is amazing,” adds Cindy Handley from Camp Boggy Creek. “Thank you so much for all that you do for these very special children.”
Last year alone, Kids Wish Network assisted over 56,000 kids across the U.S. through its programs and services. The national charity assists children with life-threatening illnesses through its Wish Program. For those facing life-altering situations, Kids Wish Network offers its Hero Program, and children facing poverty, homelessness, abuse and neglect are assisted through its Holiday of Hope On Tour. Gift Banks are just another opportunity for Kids Wish Network to share with child care organizations toys and other children’s items generously donated to Kids Wish Network by product and manufacturer donors.
“It’s an honor to help so many children in our local community and throughout Florida and to see our programs directly benefiting kids,” said Kids Wish Network Executive Director Anna Lanzatella.
