Kilpop Entertainment to launch 'Brothers' NFT on Rarible.com on July 22nd
--Featured Items Include a signed Dimebag Darrell Guitar from Celebrity Artist Jason Oberly and Limited Edition HEllyeah Banner--
LAS VEGAS, June 30, 2021 /PRNewswire-PRWeb/ -- Kilpop Entertainment, a leader in supporting rock music and giving fans an in-depth look at their favorite artists through their free radio station, concerts, videos and interactive website, has announced it will be holding its first NFT (non-fungible tokens) auction titled "Brothers". The auction features a wide variety of exclusive products and collectibles and is a salute to the musical genius of rock legends the Abbott Brothers – Darrell Lance Abbott, known as Dimebag Darrell and Vinnie Paul. The auction will be held on Rarible.com beginning July 22nd and continue for the following three weeks.
According to Kilpop founder and CEO Carlota Gonzalez, the name of the auction is a tribute to the Abbott Brothers, the rock industry's most legendary siblings who granted her their private collection at the time of their death. Main items to be available include a signed Dimebag Darrell Guitar painted by world renowned artist Jason Oberly, a limited edition autographed HEllyeah banner, and an unlockable digital drive link containing the painting of the guitar. The winner of the auction will receive the physical items in addition to the NFT and will also include NFT images of the brothers (artwork by Jason Oberly) as added NFT bonuses.
"We are inspired to work with this new medium and think about what non-fungible artwork looks like within the rock music industry", says Gonzalez. "At the same time, we are thrilled to partner with Jason Oberly, an award-winning custom airbrush artist who specializes in real life portraits on a host of musical instruments as well as cars, trucks and low-riders. Future auctions will include items from the Kilpop private collection as well as from the Oberly Collection, including an Iron Man coffin signed by Stan Lee, Sons of Anarchy gas tanks and various guitar collections painted with famous guitar players", she adds.
NFTs, or non-fungible tokens, have taken the world by storm this year. When Christie's auctioned off an NFT for more than $69 million in March, it put this concept into the public spotlight. With auctions including everything from iconic sports moments to memes and collectibles, many sold for staggeringly high prices.
"I am thrilled to partner with Kilpop on this monumental auction through this exciting and increasingly popular format", adds Oberly. 'Beyond the success of this Brothers auction I look forward to additional NFT auctions as we collectively look to make these exciting, one-of-a-kind items available to music fans worldwide".
Gonzalez goes on to exclaim the virtues of NFT and the positive role it can play within the music and entertainment industry. "This is clearly the wave of now as well as the future as we will also feature an NFT of the Kilpop private collection, featuring TOOL setlist signed by all members of the band, which is very rare, Audioslave signed album cover (featuring Chris Cornell) and Offspring auto guitar artwork by Jason Oberly Additionally, we are speaking with many independent music acts to help them NFT their music," she concludes.
