ORANGE COUNTY, Calif., April 27, 2022 /PRNewswire-PRWeb/ -- Orange County children's and youth rights attorney, Kimberly La Salle, has announced her candidacy for Superior Court Judicial Seat # 5. With more than 27 years of experience as an attorney, La Salle served as both a former Deputy District Attorney and Deputy Public Defender.
"I am deeply committed to the principles of access to justice and equal protection under the law for all, including our neurodivergent youth and those struggling with mental health and addiction issues," states La Salle. She continues, "While representing the accused, I worked with justice system partners to ensure that the needs of individuals grappling with mental health issues, addiction and learning impairments were addressed to reintegrate them back into the community, prevent recidivism and ensure public safety. As a prosecutor, I worked to protect victims and bring violent criminals to justice. As a children's rights and youth justice attorney, I protect our youth and obtain the services they need now, in order to prevent a crisis later. As a judge, I will work with stakeholders to improve public safety because I understand the full scope of the issues we face."
La Salle's public service and impactful work as a youth rights attorney, prosecutor, defender, and community leader earned her the statewide 2022 California Women Lawyers Fay Stender Award, demonstrating that one individual, with courage and hard work, can effectuate positive change. La Salle states, "It is the honor of a lifetime to be nominated for this prestigious award by the Orange County Women Lawyers Association and recognized by California Women Lawyers, the only statewide organization with the mission of advancing women in the legal profession and in society."
