SAN DIEGO, Aug. 27, 2019 /PRNewswire-PRWeb/ -- Kindness Gems began with a simple mission: to inspire kindness and to spread healing like wildfire. The gemstone jewelry company that is quickly gaining international attention has remained centered on its sole desire to give back. Today, Kindness Gems is announcing plans to spread internationally. With every purchase, you are both giving and spreading love in three ways. First, you give to yourself, through the healing power of the gemstones. Second, if you commit to our act of kindness promise within 24-hours of your purchase, you will receive a 5% discount to give in any way that you desire. Third, you give to the greater good by supporting and helping raise funds for various charities, throughout the year, as Kindness Gems donates 20% of all its proceeds.
Julia Freifeld, founder of Kindness Gems, worked as a crisis counselor for three years in college after two of her closest friends were affected by sexual violence. The organization Julia worked for, Rise, and many other organizations doing similar work, often did not have the capacity to help all of the victims in need. Having to turn away so many people, sparked a fire in Julia to do more. "Our crucial services were over capacity for 11 months of the year. This alone gave me the inspiration to create a company that would one day ensure that no survivor is turned away from the services they so desperately need." Julia started crafting jewelry from sea glass she collected on the beach, which she viewed as a symbol of going through rough ocean waters to come out a beautiful resilient survivor.
From her dorm room floor she created gorgeous sea glass necklaces and developed an unstoppable dream; to build a company based on philanthropy, raising funds for Rise and many other charities that could use more funding to help others. Julia soon discovered healing gemstones and how the powers they hold can positively affect others. From there, she eagerly jumped into creating beautiful gemstone jewelry that would not only heal the individual wearing it, but support survivors of sexual violence and other important causes through donations. Additionally, she was eager to ultimately move individuals to be more kind and compassionate in their everyday lives.
The jewelry's popularity began to spread, first through her university and then quickly down the California coast. Following graduation, Julia took her company on the road and Californians everywhere fell in love with the concept and desire to make a difference. Before she knew it, boutiques all throughout California were carrying Kindness Gems's necklaces that came with a 5% discount when committing to an act of kindness. "Boutique owners would enthusiastically call me to share all the amazing acts of kindness people were committing and how they themselves felt inspired to be more compassionate - that is when I realized I could create an entire revolution of spreading kindness."
After settling in San Diego at the end of the road trip, Julia was selling Kindness Gems at a local Ocean Beach Farmer's Market when she met Bri Downes. The two were immediately on the same page in regards to the passions they shared and the ways that they wanted to make a difference in the world today. In the last year, the two have successfully built a brand around the concept of spreading kindness while selling their "dainty but durable" jewelry at artisan markets and boutiques all over California. Kindness Gems created a buzz in the San Diego community with features in prominent magazines including the San Diego Voyager and San Diego News. Julia and Bri have put together Kindness Gems events, such as free yoga in the park and beach clean-ups, to grow charity awareness in San Diego. The brand is currently expanding across the country, as it can now be found in boutiques in Kansas, New York, and New Jersey. The expansion means waves of kindness are spreading too.
Julia and Bri are eager to take the brand international. They have already traveled with their beautiful jewelry to Turkey and Greece, sharing the designs and message with those abroad. As they continue to make the brand more global, Julia is excited to reveal that the brand will be featured in three Fall issues of Vanity Fair UK as they launch a new solid 14k Gold Precious Stone Collection. The team is thrilled to present this line to the UK and many other international followers, especially those in Australia, who have already expressed interest in a fine jewelry collection from Kindness Gems.
Kindness Gems's central mission is to inspire others to be better to both themselves and the world at large. They have partnered with incredible organizations such as Rise, Community Center for Solutions, Generate Hope, and Oceana, and continue to search for relationships to build with organizations improving the world today. Kindness Gems jewelry is creating a discussion about what we can accomplish if we all work together towards a common goal: spreading kindness. They believe that kindness is contagious and the more it is practiced, the more powerful it becomes to create real waves.
