SEATTLE (PRWEB) October 20, 2018
KitoTech Medical, a Seattle-based medical device company, announced today that it has entered into a national distribution agreement with North American Rescue LLC (NAR), a manufacturer and supplier of life saving medical and rescue solutions for the military, federal agencies, law enforcement, and first responders.
NAR will distribute KitoTech’s proprietary wound closure product, microMend®, which is an attractive alternative to the current choices of sutures, staples and glues for closing skin wounds. It utilizes an array of tiny stainless steel staples (Microstaples) attached to a backing to achieve the holding strength of a suture with the simplicity of applying a bandage. microMend was named one of the “Best Medical Technologies” of 2017 by Medgadget.com.
“We are excited to partner with North American Rescue to offer a simple, safe and effective, and low cost alternative to traditional wound closure products for men and women in uniform and the federal agencies and facilities that support them,” said Joseph Bjorklund, Vice President of Sales and Marketing at KitoTech.
“North American Rescue is pleased to be offering this unique solution to wound closure and believes that it will be an excellent addition to the lineup of our solutions for prehospital treatment of severe injury,” stated Robert Castellani, Founder and President of NAR. “First responders are always in need of the latest innovations to provide better patient care and we see this as a portable, intuitive, fast application device that can assist providers.”
Advantages of the microMend device include ease of use, faster and lower procedure costs, improved patient comfort compared to conventional sutures and staples, ability of patient to remove devices, and application to a broad range of lacerations and incisions of varying lengths.
