At the beginning of March 2020, management at Knack activated the company's business continuity plan and while recognizing that elements of that plan needed to be adjusted for the unique realities of the COVID-19 pandemic. Key to implementing the business continuity plan involved ensuring the criticality of client's data, security, and HIPAA compliance. Knack's employees in the US and in India ensured that Knack's business continuity plan worked as well in reality as was laid out in paper. By early March 2020 IT teams were activated to purchase, relocate and set up IT hardware and software that would allow each and every employee to be fully productive from their homes. Being one of the first companies in the sector to mandate work-from-home for all employees allowed Knack to promote social isolation in its workforce. By March 23rd Knack was delivering all its services fully remotely with no loss of productivity and regular reports/communication with clients were updated.
