Tennessee Auto Accident Lawyers at Greg Coleman Law Launch Used Car Recall Resource Tip Sheet
(PRWEB) September 26, 2014 -- Greg Coleman Law, a Tennessee auto accident law firm, has launched a new online information resource to help consumers evaluate and remedy recall defects in used cars.
The Tennessee Used Car Recall Resource is a PDF resource that consolidates much of the recall safety information that consumers value, including vehicle history and price negotiation strategies.
In particular, the PDF addresses how to conduct recall research, negotiate prices due to recall issues, the importance of a Carfax Report and when to consult the National Highway Traffic Safety Administration’s (NHTSA) website.
“Millions of cars have been recalled in the first three quarters of 2014, and many used cars may be unsafe,” noted Greg Coleman, founding attorney of Greg Coleman Law.
Consumers who purchase used cars in 2014 and 2015 are more likely to be purchasing a vehicle with an uncompleted recall. In light of this, the PDF begins by reviewing the importance of a detailed vehicle history report. Using commercial online services such as Carfax, used car shoppers can easily identify if there are any recalls on the vehicle and whether they have been completed or not.
“Used car shoppers should not make assumptions. Almost all of the vehicle safety information is available online. With a little bit of research and planning, consumers can buy safe and valuable cars and avoid recalled vehicles,” stated Coleman.
The PDF also provides instructions on using the NHTSA’s new recall tool at https://vinrcl.safercar.gov/vin/. Using the NHTSA recall portal, customers can type in the Vehicle Identification Number of any vehicle and retrieve the recall history for the last 15 years.
The PDF also contains links to the corporate recall websites of the fifteen largest auto companies, including General Motors, Toyota, Ford, Honda and many others. The PDF provides clients with a step-by-step blueprint for researching a used car and evaluating its potential safety defects.
“When clients contact our firm, they often tell us how confusing all of the recall notices have been. This resource will help clients who are worried about their car’s status, get an easy answer,” concluded Coleman.
