Kombiz Salehi's new book "My Life as an Immigrant" is a riveting memoir of the author's journey in the USA as an immigrant
Recent release "My Life as an Immigrant" from Page Publishing author Kombiz Salehi is an enthralling narrative about the author's experiences as an immigrant adjusting to the United States' way of life.
MATTHEWS, N.C., July 23, 2021 /PRNewswire-PRWeb/ -- Kombiz Salehi, an Iranian American writer, educator, and former federal agent who was naturalized as a US citizen at the age of twenty-seven and has been in the USA for fifty-nine years, has completed his new book "My Life as an Immigrant": a well-conceived book detailing the author's poignant circumstances as an immigrant in the United States of America.
This book is a life story of an immigrant who arrived in the USA as an eighteen-year-old with twelve dollars in his pocket and has remained in the USA for fifty-nine years. He became an immigrant three years after his arrival and a US citizen five years later. During the next fifty years, he significantly contributed to the American society in more ways than one. He sponsored his entire education and obtained a BS, an MS, an MBA, and a PhD, getting his PhD when he was seventy-four. After the MS degree in Nuclear Engineering, he served the US nuclear power industry as a nuclear engineer, including fifteen years of management position in companies such as GE Nuclear, Bechtel, Exelon (formerly ComEd), Parsons, and the US Nuclear Regulatory Commission (US NRC). He retained security clearance during his 7-year tenure at the US NRC. He was a midlevel manager for the GE Company for a decade. As an adjunct professor for eight years, he taught MBA, physics, and mathematics to the university students. His contributions extend through his three children in three circles of the American society. One son is in the biomedical field as a director of medical research in a huge US pharmaceutical company, with his services participated in developing the vaccine for the COVID-19 virus for his company. His daughter is a competent litigator and a law partner in a large law firm. His second son is a VP of finance in a mortgage firm and a graduate of a seminary program with periodic delivery of sermons to his church members. The most interesting and riveting part of this book is a true story episode of his life with his former stepdaughter who was diagnosed with extreme case of Bipolar Disorder. This is a major drama justifying a movie from the series of events the author faced in his second marriage. It covered the largest chapter of this book.
Published by Page Publishing, Kombiz Salehi's opus shows a man's unrelenting pursuit of stability and success in life despite the struggle of being a foreigner in a country far away from his fatherland with a totally different culture.
