LabRoots Announces Winner for the Second Annual Summer Textbook Scholarship
YORBA LINDA, Calif. (PRWEB) September 28, 2018 -- LabRoots, the leading provider of educational and interactive virtual events for tech innovators, engineers, and scientists from around the world, is excited to announce Daniel Andrade, a 22-year-old undergraduate student from Peru studying at the National University of San Marcos, as the winner of the LabRoots Summer 2018 Textbook Scholarship, awarding him $1,000 to support him in his academic pursuits.
Currently in his fourth academic year, Andrade has proven a great passion for learning about preventive medicine, microbiology and immunology. One of his great aspirations is to help rural areas from Peru in control and prevention of endemic diseases.
“In its second year, we’ve seen thousands of applicants for our scholarships and Daniel was a clear choice,” mentioned Greg Cruikshank, founder and president of LabRoots. “He is member of Reproduction and Animal Health Investigation Group and has collaborated with research projects focused in infectious diseases. This is the kind of work we want to encourage and wish to support with this scholarship program.”
With the announcement of the winner for the summer scholarship, LabRoots is also pleased to announce they will continue its mission as a primary source for scientific news and education online events, as well aid emerging scientists with their academic pursuits with the opening of the Fall STEM Scholarship for $2,000. The application period will open from October 1 to November 30, 2018.
Once the application period has closed, the LabRoots scholarship committee will review all applicants, notifying the winner no later than December 15 via email. There are no fees associated with this scholarship. To apply, students need only submit their resume, CV, or transcript, including overall GPA and accompanied by an essay of 250 words or more.
