Officials at Lake Lawn Resort in Delavan, WI announced the appointment of Executive Chef, John Billings. Chef Billings will oversee all culinary operations at the 270-acre lakeside resort and conference center. The resort is also home to The Frontier Restaurant, The Lookout Bar & Eatery, the Isle of Capri Cafe, banquets, weddings, meetings, and offers offsite catering services for private events. The resort’s newest addition is a 76’ tour boat, the Lake Lawn Queen, which will provide boat tours, as well as public and private events on Delavan Lake. Chef Billings brings over 30 years of culinary operations experience in hotels, resorts, private clubs and casinos, and expertise in hospitality management, menu development, and training. Most recently, he was the Executive Chef and Director of F&B for the Eaglewood Resort and Spa in Itasca, IL, a Benchmark International property.

An American Culinary Federation Certified Executive Chef, he is a leader in his profession, having been recognized for his outstanding work by professional organizations in the trade. His awards and accolades include the honor and privilege to cook at the famous James Beard House on three occasions, being named American Culinary Federation Chapter Chef in 1997 and 2001, and receiving Best of Show in the Geneva Executive Club Annual Food Competition. Chef Billings also received six (6) Gold Medals, four (4) Silver Medals, and two (2) Bronze Medals for his culinary talent from Arklatex Culinary Salon, Lafayette Culinary Salon and Baton Rouge Salon, respectively.
