Fans at the first stop of her tour in San Francisco were called “thoroughly nutty,” as they waited to get inside for the intimate show. Even before Del Rey took the stage, fans were going wild as they tried to get as close to the stage as possible. This tour is being held in support of her Ultraviolence album, which is rumored to be released in June, following the conclusion of this tour. There has not been any official word on the exact release, but considering how excited her fans have been in anticipation for her shows, regardless of the release date, it will be a big seller.
Del Rey has released two albums in her career thus far, starting with Lana Del Ray in 2010. The album was released by the 5 Points record label, which she would go on to buy herself out of. After signing a new record deal, she released Born to Die in 2012 and the album has sold more than five million copies around the world. The album has been certified platinum in the United States by the Recording Industry Association of America for selling more than a million copies. The album was a hit around the world and was aided by the singles, “Video Games,” “Born to Die,” and “Summertime Sadness.”
Del Rey will continue to tour across the United States and Canada through May, with shows at many popular venues including the Hard Rock Live in Orlando, Fla.; House of Blues in Boston, Mass.; Toyota Oakdale Theatre in Wallingford, Conn.; Red Rocks Amphitheatre in Morrison, Colo.; Ryman Auditorium in Nashville, Tenn.; and the Tabernacle in Atlanta, Ga.
