Lansweeper 7: "Focused On What We Do Best: Discovering your IT"
The rising software company Lansweeper releases Lansweeper 7 Aurora, which will be used for IT Asset Management around the globe. The update for the popular network management platform is available for download as of today.

The Lansweeper 7.0 release is an extensive update, focusing on virtual environments and remote scanning. The Fall update includes a load of brand-new features and scanning improvements. These focus on scanning more assets in IT networks and providing more information than ever about them.
Among the updates is LsAgent, a new scanning Agent included with Lansweeper. LsAgent is the solution for laptops out on the road, devices at remote locations with limited network connectivity or certain mission-critical systems that operate behind strict firewalls. It is a lightweight application available for Windows, Mac & Linux devices, that automatically and securely sends asset updates to the main Lansweeper installation.
While Lansweeper already scans a lot of information, some device types have very specific data that is hard to identify for any preconfigured software. For these devices, custom OID scanning enables the user to add their own object identifiers – a universal system for keeping track of variables from the number of pads put in a coffee machine, to the remaining battery in a modern forklift. Once you have specified which data you wish to retrieve from which asset, the software will go get it on every connected device that supports SNMP.
The Lansweeper DeepScan Technology had a performance boost, and now scans assets faster while using fewer CPU resources, providing higher fidelity data in a faster, more efficient way.
Both vCenter and Citrix scanning methods received updates to scan additional information faster while raising security standards. Host and guest devices are now easier to navigate, as they're automatically linked by Lansweeper, ensuring a complete overview of your virtual environments.
In Lansweeper 7 and future releases, Lansweeper will expand its discovery capabilities for application-specific information. By using a new PowerShell-based scanning method, Lansweeper can already scan detailed information from Microsoft Exchange like hostname, send quotas, mailbox names and more.
