The law firm of Laraia & Laraia, P.C. recently welcomed its newest member, Attorney Kiley M. Whitty, who joined as Principal and Partner with James J. Laraia, forming the new partnership of Laraia & Whitty, P.C. Joseph M. Laraia will be Of Counsel, a role in which he will contribute his vast knowledge and experience. WHEATON, Ill., July 10, 2019 /PRNewswire-PRWeb/ -- Prior to starting the firm in 1966, Joseph was a prosecutor with the DuPage County State's Attorney's Office and became chief of the felony division. Joseph has practiced in the Illinois State Courts in DuPage, Cook, Kane, and Will Counties, as well as the Federal District Court in Chicago for more than 50 years. Recognized by his peers as one of the most honored attorneys in DuPage County, Joseph has been victorious in criminal litigation and civil litigation cases that range from capital murder cases to civil, family law, and business and public issue litigation.
James practices in the areas of family law and civil litigation and has experience in matrimonial law, child custody and child support issues, post-decree petitions, adoptions, and parentage cases. He primarily practices in DuPage, Kane, Will, DeKalb, and Kendall counties.
James is a member of the Illinois State Bar Association, DuPage County Bar Association, and Kane County Bar Association. He served in several different roles for the DCBA, including Past President. He is also a member of the DuPage County Justinian Society of Lawyers, DuPage County Judiciary Committee, Northern Illinois University College of Law Justinian Society, and the DuPage County Inns of Court.

Currently serving as the Second Vice President of the DuPage County Bar Association, Kiley previously served on the Board of Directors, the Planning Committee, Budget Committee, and on the Executive Committee as the Assistant Treasurer and Third Vice President. She is also a Past President of the DuPage Association of Women Lawyers and a member of the Illinois State Bar Association. In addition, Kiley serves as a Director of the DuPage County Bar Foundation and is a regular volunteer for DuPage County's Pro Se Help Desk and she is a certified Guardian ad Litem for the 18th Judicial Circuit Court of DuPage County.
