Laser Research Optics Introduces Zinc Sulfide Windows that are Multi-Spectral for Hostile Environments
New custom fabricated ZnS windows for a wide range of military applications requiring mechanical resistance to hostile environments in the VIS and IR have been introduced by Laser Research Optics.
PROVIDENCE, R.I., Dec. 7, 2021 /PRNewswire-PRWeb/ -- Laser Research Optics has introduced custom fabricated ZnS windows for a wide range of military applications requiring mechanical resistance to hostile environments in the VIS and IR.
Laser Research ZnS Windows are ideally suited for single aperture, high performance multi-spectral systems from 0.35 to 14 microns that will be exposed to hostile environments. They can be supplied in plano-concave, plano-convex, meniscus, and flat shapes in sizes from 0.5" to 3.0" O.D. or diagonal for use in military vision and thermal imaging systems.
Comparable to Cleartran® windows, Laser Research ZnS Windows are manufac-tured using Hot Isostatic Pressing (HIP) which provides enhanced clarity, hardness, and scratch resistance. Knoop Hardness is 150-165 kg/mm2, Rupture Modulus is 69 MPa, and they feature λ/4 and λ/10 surfaces and finishes to 10-5 scratch dig. These ZnS windows conform to MIL-PRF-13830.
Laser Research ZnS Windows are priced according to configuration, and quantity. Quotations are provided upon request.
