MILFORD, Conn., Nov. 15, 2018 /PRNewswire-PRWeb/ -- Lauralton Hall will host Christmas in the Mansion, Sunday, Dec. 2, noon to 5:00 p.m., at 200 High Street, Milford, Conn. Admission is $10 at the door; children age 12 and younger are free of charge.
At Christmas in the Mansion visitors are invited to:
- Tour the School's decorated Victorian Gothic mansion built in 1864.
- Shop for holiday gifts from among 50+ vendors offering items ranging from glass works and modernized vintage jewelry to gourmet foods and up-cycled decorative items.
- Visit the crèche in Lauralton's century-old chapel in Mercy Hall.
- Bring children to see Santa in his workshop and enjoy baked goods, hot chocolate and crafts facilitated by Lauralton student "elves."
- Take a chance on winning raffle items including gourmet baskets, handcrafted goods and Christmas trees decorated by Lauralton students, faculty, and staff.
- View special collections on loan including vintage candy dispensers made by PEZ Candy, Inc., a variety of antique teacups, and a large assortment of angel figurines.
- Meet guest authors including poet and Lauralton alumna Amanda Rose and Damien Connolly, Lauralton religion teacher, award-wining professional musician and writer of several theology books.
For those who want to shop early, a reservation-only Preview Party will be held Saturday, December 1, 6:30 to 9:30 p.m. The party also includes hors d'oeuvres and light buffet provided by Fitzgerald's Fine Catering, wine and beer, raffles, Christmas music performed by Lauralton Hall vocal ensembles and more. All profits from Christmas in the Mansion are directed to the Lauralton Hall Annual Fund and will be used to support students in the 2018-2019 Academic Year.
