The country, state, and specifically Western Pennsylvania are in the midst of both an opioid and substance abuse epidemic. The Mon Valley—which LaurelCare's Jefferson facility will serve—has been particularly impacted by substance abuse issues while lacking adequate access to full continuum, outpatient recovery and treatment services.
