Laurence W. Levine Foundation and Anne Ford Foundation Present Grants to Smart Kids with Learning Disabilities
Norwalk, CT-based non-profit Smart Kids with Learning Disabilities receives major grants from the Laurence W. Levine Foundation and Anne Ford Foundation to continue its work supporting parents of children with learning disabilities and attention issues.
NORWALK, Conn., Feb. 5, 2019 /PRNewswire-PRWeb/ -- Smart Kids with Learning Disabilities (SKLD) received a $50,000 award from the Laurence W. Levine Foundation and a $20,000 grant from the Anne Ford Foundation. The funds will support SKLD's public outreach activities and educational and parent support programs in areas beyond its existing chapters.
"Parents are key to the success of children with LD and ADHD, and parents need quality information and support. This grant allows us to provide more of both," says Dr. Christopher Bogart, President of the SKLD Board of Directors. "We are excited for our future as an organization and all we have planned."
Anne Ford, the daughter of Henry Ford II, is a dedicated activist for children with learning disabilities. She addresses school, corporate, radio and TV audiences as well as national conferences, including the International Dyslexia Association and Learning Disabilities Association of America (LDA), where she will deliver a keynote address in February. Laurence W. Levine was a distinguished diplomat and attorney at the firm of Bigham, Englar, Jones & Houston in Manhattan. The Foundation, under the direction of Mr. Levine's sister, Susan Kane, continues to support the work of non-profit organizations.
