VALENCIA, Calif., April 16, 2021 /PRNewswire-PRWeb/ -- Lavi Industries, a leader in the queuing industry for over 40 years, has released a case study outlining how they designed and implemented an efficient, effective, and low-cost COVID-safe queuing system with their longtime partner, Dallas Fort Worth International Airport (DFW). Early last summer, amid a surge in passenger traffic, DFW tapped Lavi Industries to design and implement a queuing system enabling travelers to maintain social distancing while going through TSA security checkpoints. The case study lays out how the solution meets DFW's goals for safeguarding travelers and airport staff alike, efficiently processing travelers, working within the terminals' existing footprint—even with the requirement that people stand six feet apart—and maintaining compatibility with DFW's digital crowd 3D people-counting system. Even more: the case study details how implementation was done without disrupting the airport's day-today operations.
Detailed in the case study is a queuing solution consisting of a public health-compliant queue layout comprising 3,000 feet of linear space across DFW's five terminals and 15 TSA checkpoints. Lavi accomplished the transformation in just under one month by installing the new configuration after hours and leveraging existing equipment. Acrylic Queue Guard™ panels, measuring 48" by 48", were attached to already in-place Lavi belted stanchions—which people are quite familiar with, not only at airports, but at most queuing situations.
"Every airport has unique configurations and needs," notes Lavi Southwest account executive Jonathan Jennings. "We know no one wants to spend money in the middle of a pandemic, but we work within perimeters and budgets to provide an affordable and great product."
Lavi's queuing solution case study arrives at a time where airports, sports arenas, concert venues, and other spaces tasked with processing and hosting large crowds get ready to reopen amid public health guidelines mandating guests remain six feet apart.
"Safety and security have long been the foundation of everything that we do at DFW. The airport team knew steps would need to be taken to ensure the safety of customers in light of the COVID-19 pandemic," says DFW International Airport Senior Terminal Experience Manager James Dixon. "In partnering with Lavi on the installation of queue guards, we have been able to provide our customers with a measure that reinforces our commitment to their well-being, rebuilding their trust in DFW Airport, and the travel industry as a whole."
