LOS ANGELES, April 15, 2019 /PRNewswire-PRWeb/ -- One in eight people in Los Angeles County experiences food insecurity. To help rectify this, the Law Offices of Tony J. Tyre, Esq., APC is holding a food drive from April 15 to May 31. Donated food items can be dropped off at 100 S Citrus Ave., Suite 101, Covina, CA. Items needed include canned or dry fruits and vegetables, shelf-stable lean meats and canned or dry beans, non-perishable whole grains, and shelf-stable low-fat dairy products.

"Our goal is to collect at least 100 pounds of food," said attorney Tony J. Tyre, a Los Angeles native. "You can also help online by shopping on our Virtual Food Drive page."

By participating virtually, you can purchase fruits and vegetables to help feed the hungry, including bananas, apples, oranges, carrots, etc.; grains, such as oatmeal, bread, pasta and more; protein, like beans, chicken and salmon; and dairy, including yogurt, cheese, eggs and milk. "You will also be able to provide full meals for veterans, senior couples, a family of four, children and holiday meals for families," added Tyre.

Food drives such as these help the Los Angeles Regional Food Bank, which has been fighting hunger since 1973, stock empty pantry shelves. Community support enables the Food Bank to serve more than 300,000 people on a monthly basis. Since its inception, the Los Angeles Regional Food Bank has distributed more than 1 billion pounds of food.
