The firm, based in Houston, Texas and with offices nationwide, has filed Kennard Law P.C. v. Frost Bank, in Harris County, Texas District Court, Cause No. 2020-24432, against Frost Bank on behalf of itself and small businesses are over the State, Starwalk of Dallas, LLC and Kona-Wood Houston, LLC. v. JP Morgan Chase Bank, in Dallas County, Cause No. DC-20-05797, Texas District Court, and Zamora-Orduna Realty Group, LLC. v. BBVA USA, in Bexar County, Texas District Court Cause No. 2020CI07450.
“This is not a time for more greed says Managing Shareholder Alfonso Kennard, Jr." It is a time to fairly distribute tax-payer money for the companies that need it most. As a small business ourselves, we realized we were in the same position. We never laid anyone off and maintained full payroll—unlike many of the largest law firms in the country.
The lawsuits address the fact that these banks were not equipped to handle the loans and small business clients were left with nothing, despite representations that their loan applications would be properly handled. These loans were supposed to be distributed on a first come, first serve basis. Instead, the lawsuits allege, these banks pick and chose who would get processed. Oftentimes, they neglected to communicate to their clients about status, even before it became too late and the fund initially ran out of money.
