Lawyer Rory T. Weiler Announces Candidacy for Third Vice-President of Illinois State Bar Association
ST. CHARLES, Ill. (PRWEB) October 01, 2018 -- Attorney Rory T. Weiler is excited to announce his candidacy for third vice-president of the Illinois State Bar Association. ISBA members will elect the third vice-president and members of its board of governors during a voting period from March 26 to April 30, 2019.
As third vice-president of the ISBA, Weiler would focus on increasing participation and communication within the ISBA, ensuring members realize its value, adding large firms to strengthen its base, working to expand ISBA Mutual malpractice insurance memberships and ensuring the ISBA is a valuable resource for law schools and students.
Weiler is a partner at Weiler & Lengle, P.C., a family law firm in St. Charles. His practice emphasizes cases which involve the allocation of parental responsibilities and complex economic issues.
Attorney Weiler, the current ISBA Treasurer, is an active ISBA member who serves on its board of governors, where he represents Area 3. He is a member and former chair of the ISBA Family Law Section Council and member of the Standing Committee on Budget & Audit. He previously served on the ISBA Special Committee for the Review of the Collaborative Law Process and is a board member of the Illinois Bar Foundation, the charitable arm of the ISBA.
Rory Weiler is a fellow of the American Academy of Matrimonial Lawyers, for which he has served on the Illinois Chapter Board of Directors. He also served on the Illinois Supreme Court’s Committee on Character and Fitness.
Weiler, recognized as one of the Best Lawyers in America, is a member of the Leading Lawyers Network and has been named to Super Lawyers’ list of outstanding Illinois attorneys. He received the Kane County Bar Association’s Pro Bono Award in 2001 and the ISBA’s John C. McAndrews Pro Bono Service Award in 2005.
Attorney Weiler earned a bachelor’s degree in journalism from Northern Illinois University (1975) and juris doctor from the John Marshall Law School (1979). He wrote a book titled Divorce Tools and Techniques, and has written several articles about family law.
