Lawyers' Committee for Civil Rights Under Law Secures Major $1M Gift from Hogan Lovells

WASHINGTON, May 9, 2019 /PRNewswire-PRWeb/ -- Today, the Lawyers' Committee for Civil Rights Under Law announced a $1 million donation from Hogan Lovells, a leading global law firm, to support the work of the non-partisan, national civil rights organization and leader in the nation working to confront racial discrimination faced by African Americans and other racial minorities.

Hogan Lovells' generous gift comes at a critical time, when the Lawyers' Committee is engaged in active litigation across the country to combat voter suppression, secure a fairer criminal justice system, and confront the intensifying hate crime crisis. The organization also works to promote fair housing opportunity and, with Hogan Lovells as co-counsel, recently secured a landmark fair housing settlement against Nassau County, New York that will provide greater access to housing opportunity for New Yorkers. The firm's support will help advance future litigation efforts that safeguard the rights of our nation's most vulnerable communities.
