"Our vision was to find a way to both help the industry get better efficiency in movement and reduce the carbon footprint at the same time. We have achieved that vision and continue to push the edge of what others say can’t be done."

We’ve all anxiously awaited a package’s arrival. And it’s become incredibly helpful-- not to mention satisfying-- to be able to see where it is at all hours of the day, from the time it leaves a facility until the second it arrives at our doorsteps. Now imagine you own a large company and are shipping large amounts of merchandise via trucks. Shouldn’t you also be able to keep track of your shipment and make sure it arrives safely?

Enter Lazer Spot.

In the newest episode of Tomorrow’s World Today, field reporter Darieth Chisolm heads to Lazer Spot headquarters in Georgia to learn how the company is revolutionizing the shipping industry with their logistical system of distribution.

“Lazer Spot is the byproduct of innovation and persistence when everyone said that this type of company couldn’t exist, and now we are the largest in our industry,” said Stefanie Newsome, Vice President, Administration, Lazer Spot. “We got here by providing more than our customers ask for and in some cases before they even know that it’s a need. That’s what visionaries do.”

Chisolm first visits the Fleet Command Center, where she learns how Lazer Spot uses Telematics to monitor vehicles, which has led to a reduction in engine idle time and has also reduced the company’s carbon footprint substantially in the past five years. She then heads to Chicago to see Lazer Spot’s PINC tracking system working in real-time and speaks with drivers about how their system has made it much easier for the spotter trucks.

“We don’t just dream big, we execute it through forward thinking and persistence. Our vision was to find a way to both help the industry get better efficiency in movement and reduce the carbon footprint at the same time. We have achieved that vision and continue to push the edge of what others say can’t be done,” added David McBride, Lazer Spot’s Executive Vice President of Recruitment and Retention.
