LOS ANGELES, May 6, 2019 /PRNewswire-PRWeb/ -- One of the country's go-to IT specialists and cybersecurity experts, Dave Krause, founder of Los Angeles-based agencies RiseUp Technologies and Drone Defend, has been honored as a nominee in the Los Angeles Business Journal's 2019 CTO Awards.
Krause was selected for leading the way as an innovator within the Information Technology arena for well over two decades, becoming one of the nation's top technology specialists and a leader in the worlds of IT and cybersecurity.
He recently was honored at the 2019 CTO & CIO Awards Dinner and Panel, held at the exclusive City Club LA in Downtown Los Angeles. The awards ceremony honors key technology and information officers and other professionals who are in the top information technology positions in Greater Los Angeles.
Krause was selected to be honored in the categories of 'CTO of the Year' and 'Rising Star of the Year' due to two decades of serving the needs of Hollywood's top studios, including Paramount Pictures and Warner Bros. Animation, and multiple Fortune 500 brands. In this role, he led the conceptualization of critical technological infrastructure and support across a myriad of industries and market sectors.
Some of the record-breaking motion pictures he worked on both creatively and technically have included blockbusters: "Captain America," "Thor," "Star Trek: Into Darkness," "Iron Man 3," "Lord of the Rings," "Red Planet" and "X-Men."
Krause's most recent ventures include the launch of RiseUp Technologies and Drone Defend. These agencies focus on two specific facets of modern security threats: cyber-borne attacks (such as viruses and ransomware), and unwanted unmanned aerial vehicles, or drones.
With RiseUp Technologies, Krause delivers a completely fresh take on IT services and cybersecurity, offering relationship-based customer service and the latest in emerging technologies. RiseUp focuses on growing small and midsize businesses within the Greater Los Angeles area, offering services that include Cloud and Virtual Technologies, Machine Learning and AI integration, Backup and Disaster Recovery, and Metro-based Data Replication.
Krause and his firm educate RiseUp's clients about terminal cybersecurity threats to global businesses, including Ransomware, and form lasting partnerships through empowering clients using clear and concise communication and straight-forward IT solutions.
Through his most recent venture, Drone Defend, the IT visionary is offering the greatest in protection to those in the private sector plagued with the threat of drones. Through highly advanced counter-drone technology, Drone Defend is protecting businesses, individuals, and outdoor venues and events from abusive drones. By the end of this year, there are estimated to be 2 million drones sold in the United States, according to the Federal Aviation Administration.
These drones are increasingly being used for nefarious purposes, including stealing intellectual property and capturing footage of celebrities and high profile individuals in compromising or scandalous positions. They can even be deployed with weapons over sports arenas, political rallies, or general congregations of people in confined public spaces.
Krause has stated that his biggest passion in business has been in 'helping others through technology,' and his latest role as the founder of Drone Defend carries out that passion. In this role, he supports clients with around-the-clock monitoring and detection of drones, and alerts them when any suspicious drones are nearby.
During the 2019 CTO & CIO Awards Dinner, Krause was honored alongside other luminaries within his field, including Tomas Soderstrom, CTO at NASA's Jet Propulsion Laboratory; Dan Phillips, CTO at Hulu; Eric Iverson, CTO at CAA; Lance Ralls, CIO at Belkin International; and Derek Peterson, CTO at Boingo Wireless.
