Lean Enterprise Institute Hires Business Journalist Cameron Ford
Cambridge, MA (PRWEB) November 11, 2015 -- The nonprofit Lean Enterprise Institute (LEI), a global leader in lean management thinking and practice, today announced it has hired Cameron Ford, an experienced business journalist and marketing communicator, in the newly created position of business writer and editor.
Ford’s main responsibilities include gathering, writing, and editing thought-leading content for The Lean Post and the Lean Product and Process Development community web site. He also will write LEI’s weekly newsletter and help market its lean management books, workshops, and the 2016 Lean Transformation Summit.
“LEI’s commitment to advancing continuous improvement in its own processes and for customers is what makes this new opportunity so exciting,” said Ford, who holds a bachelor’s in journalism from the University of Massachusetts Amherst. “Throughout my career I’ve created content as a news reporter, copy editor, public relations professional, and marketing communications specialist. I’m looking forward to using all my skills with the thought leaders at LEI and greater lean community.”
“Cam’s skills and experience in writing, editing, reporting, using social media, marketing books and conferences, and generating high-quality content with thought leaders makes him the perfect addition to our communications team,” said Joshua Rapoza, LEI customer strategy officer. “We’re looking forward to his success supporting our growth strategy in key areas, such as lean product and process development.”
Lean Startup and Adjacent Communities
LEI’s Lean Product and Process Development community fosters the breakthrough idea of set-based innovation among lean leaders, engineers, designers, product developers, and startup entrepreneurs in a variety of manufacturing and service industries. Instead of zeroing in on a single possible solution that appears to work well from just one perspective, product developers use trade-off curves and other lean techniques to explore sets of alternatives to the product, its subsystems, and manufacturing process.
The Lean Post is an ambitions blog that aims to boost global communication and sharing among all communities that think deeply about continuous innovation and process improvement. These improvement communities include organizations advancing lean principles and activities in management, startups, healthcare, design, organizational learning, systems thinking, and operations research, among others.
