Learn the Lessons of the Lord through Don Ernst's Alaskan Bush Adventures
Don Ernst shares what his travels revealed to him about God's teachings in his latest book Alaskan Bush Adventures: Lessons from the Land, Lessons from the Lord. In this personal account of his journeys, the author talks about his love for adventure and his faith in the Lord, showing readers that we can survive ordeals both big and small if we rely on His Word.
DALLAS, June 1, 2019 /PRNewswire-PRWeb/ -- Alaskan Bush Adventures is a collection of personal anecdotes that talks about different times in his life. Each chapter chronicles his experiences living in the bush of Alaska, surviving tough environmental conditions, preaching to local villagers, traveling cross-country, learning to fly a plane, and many more. As Ernst shares his daily joys and struggles with his readers, he reflects on every experience by turning to the Word of God for guidance.
Throughout the book, Ernst quotes Bible verses to better express his feeling towards situations he encounters. While he is an educated preacher, he isn't afraid to talk about his shortcomings as a person, and he uses these moments to teach readers important lessons to live by. One of these lessons is how worldly matters will lead us astray from the will of God. "We need to guard ourselves because it's so easy to be caught up in the world and lose sight of the One who died for us and gave us life and instructions on how to live that life. No one said it would be easy not to follow the world. It wasn't easy to pack out the moose. But it was worth it."
To add to Ernst's lesson about looking to Christ, his book tells us that even someone as simple as a fisherman or tax collector can be chosen to spread the Good News. Your background, according to Ernst, is not the deciding factor that tells us whether or not you are worthy of sharing God's Word of Love to others. If you feel doubt creeping into your mind and heart, you must learn to focus on the Lord so that you won't be tempted by the enemy into living a life ruled by worldly pleasures and material possessions.
"In the storms of life, I need to be like the disciples and learn the lesson—I need to be reminded that my hope, my anchor, is in Christ. He has given me His word and He will give me strength in time of need. He will give me grace for the situations I face. He will always be with me and never leave me. He will, as promised, be my unfailing anchor in life."
