On March 30, 2020, SIIA named Learning Explorer a CODiE Award Finalist in the category for “Best Library Reference or Educational Database.” This award recognizes the service that “best packages reference, original source materials, library or research information or disaggregated media assets for educational purposes in the PK-12 or higher education markets.”

"Our team is dedicated to helping to make finding, planning, and delivering curriculum easier for educators. The Learning Explorer learning resource discovery and management solution is ideal for helping educators successfully meet the challenges of both in class and remote learning. We are honored to be nominated for the 2020 SIIA CODiE Award.” says Jim Hurley, CEO & Founder of Lesson Planet.

Designed as a robust learning resource discovery and curriculum management platform for districts and schools, Learning Explorer allows teachers to easily discover, manage, and deliver educator-curated open educational resources (OER) as well as licensed publisher content. Teachers can easily search educator reviews to over 650,000 curated educational resources and then use the intuitive drag-and-drop interface to build, edit, and manage custom collections of resources to share with their students. Learning Explorer integrates seamlessly with rostering solutions such as Clever as well as LMS solutions such as Google Classroom and Canvas.

When describing Learning Explorer, CODiE’s educator judges said, “it gives teachers a way to organize resources to allow their students to be successful in their learning journeys. This really meets the need for teachers who often struggle to help point their students to a variety of quality online resources,” and “this makes organizing a wide variety of resources manageable for teachers. More specifically, it gives teachers a logical way to access and, more importantly, organize Open Educational Resources and other content.”
