The Left Bank Writers Retreat aims to kickstart and energize writers’ work over the course of seven days in Paris.
DENVER (PRWEB) January 09, 2019
As the world moves into 2019 with its typical lists of resolutions to eat better, exercise more and succeed at work, the Left Bank Writers Retreat in Paris, France, June 8 – 14, 2019, has some Hemingway-inspired tips for writers craving new year’s motivation. The annual week-long salon-style writers’ seminar and experiential literary travel adventure uses Hemingway’s writing techniques as creative inspiration in writing sessions that help writers move forward on existing projects – or spark something new. Celebrating its 10th anniversary, the small-group writing workshop takes eight writers of all levels on a literary journey through Paris’ Left Bank, stomping grounds of legendary authors Ernest Hemingway, F. Scott Fitzgerald and more.
Hemingway said, “If a writer stops observing he is finished. Experience is communicated by small details intimately observed.” The Left Bank Writers Retreat holds that theory close as it encourages writers on the retreat to observe and thrive in some of the most remarkable places in Paris. Reveling in the masterpieces in such world-famous museums as Musée d’Orsay and Musée de l’Orangerie, drinking wine in cafes frequented by Hemingway and friends, a boat cruise to the Eiffel Tower, plein air writing workshops in the city’s most beautiful spots, picnicking at Versailles and a visit to the little village of Auvers-sur-Oise where Van Gogh painted are a few items on the Left Bank Writers Retreat itinerary.
Another quote from Hemingway that resonates with the retreat’s writers is, “Live the full life of the mind, exhilarated by new ideas, intoxicated by the Romance of the unusual.” Travel provides a spectacular way to expand the mind to new ideas and soak in the unusual, finding the romance in differences from the everyday routines that can create a stagnant writing environment. The Left Bank Writers Retreat aims to kickstart and energize writers’ work over the course of seven days in Paris immersed in the Left Bank lifestyle.
Writers of all levels and genres are welcome for the 2019 Left Bank Writers Retreat, taking place June 8-14, 2019. The $1,999 tuition covers all expenses during the retreat from 9 a.m. to 5 p.m. daily (breakfast, lunch, admission fees and transportation around the city, as well as writing instruction classes and one-on-one coaching).
