LegalShield Brings Annual International Convention Home to Oklahoma
ADA, Okla. (PRWEB) July 13, 2016 -- This Friday, LegalShield will officially kick off its 27th annual convention in Oklahoma City at the Cox Convention Center. The convention is expected to bring together approximately 10,000 LegalShield associates, partners and employees from across North America to celebrate another successful year for the company and learn about upcoming products and opportunities.
Appropriately named OklaHOME, the convention is returning to LegalShield’s home state of Oklahoma after being hosted out of the state since 2013. LegalShield, one of the largest employers in Ada, Oklahoma, is thrilled to bring the convention back to the Sooner State, and is committed to keeping the conference in Oklahoma for the next four years, further contributing to LegalShield’s positive impact on the economy of the state. The company also recently announced a profit sharing plan for its more than 700 employees.
“Each year, our convention gives us the chance to come together and focus on our purpose—to protect people," said Jeff Bell, CEO of LegalShield. "Our mission is to create an equal opportunity for prosperity and justice in North America.”
To champion this mission, LegalShield has invited several special guests to speak throughout the convention. Speakers and guests are listed below:
- J.C. Watts Jr. is president and CEO of non-profit Feed the Children and also founder and chairman of the J.C. Watts Companies, a multi-industry holding company headquartered in Washington, DC, with operations in Texas, Oklahoma and South Korea. Mr. Watts served in the U.S. House of Representatives from 1995 to 2003, representing Oklahoma's 4th Congressional District;
- John Addison is CEO of Addison Leadership Group, Leadership Editor of SUCCESS Magazine, author of bestseller Real Leadership and former co-CEO of Primerica;
- Mick Cornett is Mayor of Oklahoma City;
- Rip Mason is Chairman of the LegalShield board of directors.
Another successful year for LegalShield means another successful year for its more than 285,000 associates. Commissions paid to LegalShield associates are up 17% to $98 million for the last twelve months. In addition to commissions, more than 500 associates will be recognized for their accomplishments with the company; and more than 35 will earn their LegalShield ring, one of the most important pieces of LegalShield’s recognition program and indicative of financial achievement over the past 12 months. These ring earners, along with the 400 that came before them, perfectly demonstrate how being a LegalShield associate provides expansive opportunities for professional growth and development.
Many associates have gone from difficult financial situations to being able to earn extra money and in some cases completely support their families and thrive financially because of their work with LegalShield. Because of its importance to associates, LegalShield is expanding the ways in which associates can earn their first ring, allowing a new group of associates to join the esteemed ranks of LegalShield ring earners.
In addition to recognition and learning opportunities, LegalShield will launch Shake by LegalShield, a new app resulting from LegalShield’s acquisition of New York City-based startup, Shake. This product is part of a series of more than a dozen new or enhanced products and services LegalShield is unveiling this year to further its ongoing mission of providing affordable access to legal services and close the justice gap across North America.
The formal conference begins on Friday, July 15, with various activities and special events beginning Tuesday, July 12. The OklaHOME convention formally concludes Saturday, July 16.
