Class Action suit filed for Hyundai Plug-in Hybrid vehicles
BALTIMORE, Feb. 10, 2023 /PRNewswire-PRWeb/ -- Hyundai Motors America Incorporated has been sued by consumers who purchased a Sonata plug-in hybrid vehicle. The suit is filed as a class action in the United States District Court for the District of Maryland, case number 8:23-cv-00245-TDC. If the court approves class action status, the plaintiffs will represent the interests of consumers who purchased these cars between 2016-2020. The suit alleges Hyundai failed to honor the lifetime battery warranty on the car.
The case arises out of the plaintiffs' purchase of a new 2016 Hyundai Sonata Plug-in Hybrid car. The suit alleges that the hybrid car battery failed in 2021, with only about 40,000 miles on the car. The suit alleges that Hyundai has been unwilling or unable to honor the "lifetime" warranty provided with the vehicle specifically for the battery.
