LFoundry Rousset LF 110 Flash Technology Enters Industrial Phase
Rousset, France (PRWEB) November 18, 2013 -- LFoundry Rousset (LFR) is proud to announce its LF 110 technology is now ready for industrial production. LFR has just passed a key milestone for the process as its Rousset fab has completed the 2nd prototype of the LF 110 Flash technology with positive results. The first wafers have demonstrated the LFoundry Rousset capability to reach the defined specification for the technology, according to LFR committed parametrical tests.
Thanks to this qualification, customers have now the opportunity to order their products to be manufactured on LF 110 technology. The modular iPDK (Process Design Kit) including Flash primitive library is available for LFoundry Rousset customers expecting to support their design within a complete secure flow. The flexible manufacturing environment will ensure customers receive the best quality services.
This 2nd multi project run of the LF 110 technology was including test chips projects for several key market customers.
Among these projects, LFoundry Rousset embedded an advanced prototype project from a customer specializing in secure products for high value applications. The product is a secure microcontroller for applications such as dual-interface banking, e-document, open loop transit fare and mobile payment, with a high-speed dual interface communication protocol. The fact that these chips have been passed the functionality tests further to a production with LF 110 Flash technology demonstrates the ability of the process to deliver even the most advanced products.
Isabelle Constant, R&D Director, LFR declares, “We are very proud to have completed this important multi-project run of our LF 110 Flash technology. Our parametrical tests validate the conformity of the produced wafers within the specification. The confidence of our customers demonstrates their trust in our production process.”
The LF 110 process includes a high performing 90nm embedded Flash cell, making LFoundry Rousset one of the most advanced semiconductor manufacturer on the European market. The state-of-the-art LF110 technology allows to build competitive smaller cells in the technology node, thus to benefit from better performance and density of semiconductor. Built on aluminum substrate connections, the LF110 technology brings the optimized combination between electrical performance and manufacturing cost.
